Food Truck Nerd Podcast Episode 1

So I was at SJ Eats with my family last Saturday, June 18, 2011, and I was standing in the Treatbot line, having a lively chat about which truck serves up the best Filipino food with this guy Enrico who was randomly in line behind me. My wife tells us, “You ought to have your own talk show.” And it dawned on me: she’s right.
I love food trucks, and I love talking about food trucks. That’s a show. Food Network didn’t bite on the idea, and neither did Cooking Channel or even OWN, so I did what any red-blooded Silicon Valley nerd would do. I grabbed a mic, jacked into my MacBook, and recorded a podcast. And this is it.
Here’s the executive summary of this pilot episode:
- An introduction to the gourmet food truck movement
- An introduction to myself, the Food Truck Nerd
- Why my focus is on the food trucks of Northern California’s Bay Area, especially the South Bay, A.K.A. Silicon Valley
- What the show will be about
- Past and future events
The rest is all filler.
Here are links from the show:

Friday, June 24, 2011 - Food Truck Party for 20-somethings
Saturday, June 25, 2011 - Moveable Feast: San Jose (formerly SJ Eats)
Saturday, June 25, 2011 - Ron Verba’s Photos from 6/18 Moveable Feast: San Jose (Facebook)
It’s a solo show for now but Enrico, if you’re out there, give me a shout. I’d be honored to have you as a guest on the show. Missed food truck connections…You were wearing an orange tee-shirt. I was craving some 408. We talked sisig. The rest was destiny.
