On February 28, 2012 San Francisco Supervisor Scott Wiener introduced two local measures. The first is a proposal to amend San Francisco’s five-year-old 1,500-foot ban on food trucks around public schools; he would reduce the ban area to one city block, which is much more moderate. The second is a resolution opposing California’s proposed AB 1678, which would impose the 1,500-foot ban statewide. Wiener feels the statewide ban is inappropriate for San Francisco, and would cause harm to the food truck industry.

This special podcast episode is a complete recording of Wiener’s press conference on the steps of City Hall. You’ll hear his comments as well as those from Matt Cohen of Off the Grid, Monica Wong of Li’l Green Cyclo, and Anamika Khanna and Tom Volkema of Kasa Indian. (more…)

And I am unanimous in that. (more…)

In this episode I tried something new and daring: recording the entire podcast in one continuous take, coughs, blunders, and all. As a result it is gloriously imperfect. And you’re wondering, “As opposed to…?” (more…)
