Food Truck Nerd Podcast Episode 23

This week I slowly start getting my groove back. AB 1678 is still topic #1, but I haven’t forgotten about the food trucks, either! Apologies if this episode is a little noisy; my normal hermetically-sealed sound-proof recording studio was at the cleaners so I had to improvise. Noise happens.
- Please peruse my comprehensive AB 1678 page: http://foodtrucknerd.com/ab1678/. There’s a link on my menu bar. Check back often as I’ll be updating it frequently.
- At the bottom of the AB 1678 page are a number of articles and media coverage of the bill. A couple new noteworthy ones are:
- A video of a newsroom debate at News10 Sacramento between Assemblymember Bill Monning, author of the bill, and Matt Geller of the Southern California Mobile Food Vendors Association.
- Bill Monning’s OpEd piece in the Monterey Herald, defending the bill. Leave him comments!
- Bill 59 is proposed legislation in Hawaii that could make it very difficult for food trucks to operate in that state. This shows how we have to remain vigilant. It also shows that I really need to change my WordPress theme.
- Read about an anti-food truck petition circulating in Redwood City. This is a perennial struggle between brick-’n'-mortars and mobile vendors.
- Cute food truck cartoon from The New Yorker.
- Recordings
- 2/28/2012 – Curi from The Chairman Truck and Sun from Hiyaaa! at San Francisco City Hall, voicing their opposition to AB 1678
- 2/28/2012 – San Francisco Supervisor Scott Wiener on his proposed amendment to San Francisco’s own 1,500-foot food truck regulation, and opposition to AB 1678, which would take local control away from cities
- 12/12/2011 – Sara and Tommy from Arabian Bites
- 12/15/2011 – Hung from ChowBow

I appreciate the link. And I LIKE your theme! (That made me laugh out loud.)
It’s like showing up at the Oscars wearing the same dress!
